Introduction
This is the registration page is for two sessions being offered to OzChild carers to review and provide us feedback on the course: When yes means YES: A carer’s guide to conversations about consent with young people.
When Yes Means YES is about supporting carers to have conversations with young people about consent (for non-sexual activity) and affirmative consent (for sexual activity). This course is suitable for carers of young people aged 12-14 years, but our pilot is engaging carer households with young people aged 10-16 years. It features information, carer activities and videos and activities for carers to do with young people.
Since 1 July, OzChild, the Australian Childhood Foundation and Centre for Excellence in Therapeutic Care (supported by the Victorian Government Department for Families, Fairness and Housing) have been piloting this course with a group of OzChild carers. The pilot aims to encourage carers go through the course and if they can, do some activities with young people - to get their feedback too.
The purpose the pilot and these online sessions are to obtain your feedback on the course approach, content and activities to do with young people. Following this pilot period, we will draw on feedback to improve the course and make it more accessible to other carers around the country.
These online sessions will take you through the 6 online modules and feature small group discussions to obtain your ideas to improve the course.
Please select the session time that suits you best. Each session will be identical in approach and content. We will obtain your feedback during this session and you will also be invited to give additional feedback after the session.
