OUR TRAINING
Trauma-Informed Supervision

Introduction

If you supervise staff who work with young people with complex trauma, you are supporting valuable key workers who are prone to secondary traumatic stress, vicarious trauma, and compassion fatigue. Just as young people in residential care need therapeutic intervention that adapts to their needs, the supervisory process must adapt therapeutic care to the needs of your staff.

This virtual learning offering attends to the core values and principles of trauma-informed supervision and the requisite knowledge and skill base for supervising trauma-informed practice in therapeutic residential care. The workshop uses current research to equip supervisors to provide trauma-informed supervision for therapeutic residential workers facing a complex array of challenges in their work with young people living in residential care.

Facilitator:
Noel Macnamara is Deputy Director of the CETC and Executive Manager of Research and Policy at the Australian Childhood Foundation. With over 38 years of experience as a social worker, operational manager, organisational consultant, and child rights advocate, Noel is passionate about understanding the neuroscience of how child abuse impacts developing brains and using it as foundation for healing from trauma and adverse childhood experiences.
