The complex needs of young people involved with the child protection and youth justice systems need to be matched with similarly complex solutions to their care and support needs involving multiple stakeholders and systems. A Care Team approach provides a systems framework to drive a whole-of-practice approach to understanding, supporting and working through the needs of young people in a way that is child-centred, holistic and connected.

This workshop explores strategies to establish and facilitate a Care Team model that fosters collaboration among stakeholders. Participants will gain practical skills to engage and coordinate effectively with multiple systems, ensuring cohesive, connected, and integrated support tailored to the unique and intersecting needs of young people.

About the facilitator:
Noel Macnamara is a kinship carer with over 38 years of experience as a social worker, operational manager, organisational consultant, and child rights advocate. Noel is passionate about understanding the neuroscience of how child abuse impacts developing brains and using it as foundation for healing from trauma and adverse childhood experiences. Noel is the Deputy Director of the CETC and the Executive Manager of Research and Policy at the Australian Childhood Foundation.
